be sampled and randomly manipulated with algorithms,
wrote in the MAX/MSP programming environment. In
the resulting real-time montage,
the dialectical tools of order and chaos will be
used to unearth the not so hidden subtext of an empire
in decline…perhaps
its last gasps for control.

Tracking Transience is a database work which is compiled
from an ongoing project where the artist has used technology
originally intended for alternate purposes to time-stamp his
own life during daily performative tasks.
After being reported to the FBI in 2002, he spent
the next six months justifying each and every second of his existence
and after repeated interrogations and polygraphs, to the relief
of his friends and family (and himself), he is no longer considered
a terrorist threat.
